1. Configure how you want spam handled
If you are prefer to have all spam (Low scoring and High scoring) delivered to the mailboxes on your domain name select delevier and deliver.
If you want to receive low scoring and delete high scoring spam, select deliver and delete.
If you do not want to receive low scoring and high scoring spam, select delte and delete.
If you want all spam to be diverted to a holding bin, you can select forward to spam@yourdomainname. If you do this the email address box must be setup in cpanel manage mail accounts, and MUST be Regularily cleared by you.

2. Email Black/ White Lists settings
Please note, "Do not whitelist your own domain"
If you want to modify Black / Whitelist settings please note that many addresses including government and other major business will be listed on the Server wide list there is no need to add them to your personal white list. To add email addresses or domains to Black / White lists click on the Email back / Whitelist settings (see figure 2), it will open a new view of like figure 3.
if you are subscribed to newsletters or other subscription information services you should list them as white , it is a good idea to use wildcards also.
e.g. *@*.domain.com.au and *@domain.com.au , under some situations some emails may be considered spam because of that basic difference in the domainname , hence wildcard can be set to cover that situation, especially if the message is from a mass mail out release.
when finished modifying the lists - click the change button (see figure 3)and then return to the Main MailScanner configuration current settings and click change (figure 2), if you do not click the figure 2 change button the lists will not become active.
Please note, "Do not whitelist your own domain"

3. Other settings
Other Settings configuration is usually only used to enter an email address that will receive the spam messages , thereby relieving most staff from getting unwanted Spam emails , but still having a human check for false positives ( mail flagged as spam that is actually not Spam, but for some reason is written / sent like a spam email, or a domain that is listed as a spammer base). If you do use this feature you must ensure the email address where the email is being forwarded to exists and is regularily checked and cleared.
You can also lower or increase the score setting that determines the type of Spam being reported. More on this below.
If modifications are made to the Other Settings be sure to click Change at the bottom of the Other Settings screen. Then when finished modifying - click the change button (see figure 4) and then return to the Main MailScanner configuration current settings and click change (figure 2), if you do not click the figure 2 change button the changes will not become active.

4. Finalising your settings
The next screen is the most important and should always have Change button clicked even if no visible changes are made to any of the 5 selectable settings. Provided your selections are your desired choices it will not be detrimental to click change button again even if you did so in point 1.
Figure 5 ( same as figure 1)
If you have clicked change you should see a shorter screen like this next image. The list 1 - 5 represents the horizontal table indicating Selections made earlier prior to clicking change.

6. Choices
From the test results the Spam detection is extremely accurate, providing your white and black lists are set accordingly to the correct standards.
The choice of how aggressive towards the SPAM in your email queue should be handled is a purely personal choice , and might be based on.
- past examination of email delivered results labeled / not labeled as SPAM
- Continued monitoring and local filtering based on rule sets for SPAM
- Maybe Definitely high scoring spam? maybe deleted and low scoring handled locally until further monitoring provides confidence to delete low scoring Spam also
7. Emails incorrectly identified as Spam
